Kozys Southbay In and Out Reviews

Best burgers in olympia. hands down. This little hole in the wall may not look like much, connected to a small market as it is, but don't let that fool you. Make sure you try all their homemade sauces!

It was super good! Very well priced priced, you kind of take a double glance because in todays world it seems like a mistake. The two people working were very friendly and funny, it's a cute little hole in the wall. Def try the sauces too!

Kozys is the best neighborhood burger spot you may not know exists! Great food, great service, can't recommend them enough. Call ahead and your order will be ready to pickup when you get there.

We love Kozys. Family owned and run. friendly faces, fast and efficient. Call your order ahead and it's ready to go when you get there. Burgers are great, shakes are amazing and there are all sorts of dipping sauces to enjoy. Check it out!

Yum Yum! Is that enough? Seriously though this place serves great food. If you ever wonder what to have, try the Rueben Sandwich. It is absolutely delicious. It is a very meaty sandwich with lots of flavor. French dip also a plus. Of course the burgers are yummy too. They give you a nice serving of fries. They have lots of different sauces too. Next time I go I am going to have a bologna sandwich. I have heard they are great. If you like shakes....check out all their flavors.

FOR REAL GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT ITS AMAZING!!! First time at this place. Boyfriend wanted a burger so we decided to try this place since we had never been. I am so soooooo glad we did. The Burgers even though we're frozen tasted fresh. All the toppings were fresh. There secret sauce was soooo good. The garlic fries are amazing I love them. Get there burger sauce to go with the fries don't make the same mistake I did (next time I will get the sauce). The onion rings were huge and crispy with out being over oily which is perfect. This place is cheap without skimping. Seriously the fries are huge we definitely had more food than we needed but wanted to try both sides out. A regular cheese burger is 4.50 or close to that and not small either We got 2 burgers a regular cheese burger and a deluxe cheese burger garlic fries and onion ring for under $20 ADDING TO REVIEW:We went back and got bacon burgers this time which are amazing bacon cooked perfectly and more garlic fries and YES I got sauce the south bay sauce which comes on there burgers, there jalapeno sauce (so good not overly spicy actually I wouldn't mind it being spicier I love spice though but great jalapeno flavor and there western? Sauce it was kind of a bbq and mayo sauce was actually my favorite with the fries until I started mixing sauces lol)

Kozys Southbay In and Out: The Go-To Spot for Olympia Locals
From the outside, Kozys Southbay In and Out keeps it humble. No flashy signs or unnecessary fuss—just a welcoming entrance, often framed by parked trucks and hungry regulars. Once you walk in, though, it’s clear why this spot has earned a loyal following. The aroma hits first—grilled burgers, seasoned fries, and that unmistakable diner scent that tells you something good is about to happen.
Locals have long claimed Kozys as a favorite, and it’s not hard to see why. Whether you’re heading to work, coming back from a hike, or just craving something hot and satisfying, this place gets it right every time. The name In and Out says it all: quick service, no compromise on taste. It’s diner-style cooking with heart, served in a setting that feels like you’ve been here before—even if it’s your first time.
Burgers, Sandwiches, and More: A Menu Built for Comfort
Now let’s talk menu. The heart of Kozys is its straightforward, no-nonsense approach to food. Think classic American diner fare—double cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and even breakfast options that hit the spot all day long. One local favorite? The Bacon Cheeseburger, stacked high with crisped bacon, melted cheddar, and a soft toasted bun. It's the kind of burger that doesn’t need fancy toppings to impress.
The fries deserve their own spotlight—crispy, golden, and just salty enough. And if you like dipping sauces, Kozys doesn’t skimp. Everything is made with care, portioned generously, and priced so you won’t feel a pinch.
Not into meat? No problem. There’s a small but thoughtful selection for vegetarians, and staff are always open to tweaks. One customer mentioned swapping in avocado for bacon without hesitation—small touches like that go a long way.
And if you’re someone who eats with your phone first, here’s a heads-up: those plates are Instagram-worthy, even if the vibe here is more laid-back than curated.
The People, the Place, the Routine: Why Kozys Feels Like Home
Beyond the food, what really sets Kozys apart is the atmosphere. You’ll notice right away—the staff remember names, they remember orders, and they smile like they mean it. The owner, a Southbay native, makes rounds when he can. That kind of presence creates a community vibe that’s rare these days.
One regular described their Saturday ritual: “We grab breakfast here every weekend before heading out to fish. They always have our coffee ready before we even sit down.” It’s stories like that that give Kozys its personality—not just a restaurant, but a part of people’s routines.
There’s limited indoor seating, but everything’s cozy (pun intended), and there’s outdoor space when weather permits. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing food to go, you’ll see folks from all walks—families, tradespeople, students—all drawn by the same promise: food that feels familiar, done just right.
Real Reviews, Real Talk: What People Say About Kozys
A quick look at review sites and you’ll see the pattern. “Hidden gem,” “great portions,” “friendly service”—those are the phrases that keep popping up. While no place is perfect, Kozys keeps its score solid with a blend of fast service and food that delivers on expectations.
One reviewer shared, “I’ve eaten here three times this month. Every single time the burger was fresh, the fries hot, and the staff patient—even during rush hour.” That kind of consistency is a big reason why folks keep coming back.
It’s also worth noting that for a spot tucked into a quiet part of Olympia, Kozys has managed to pull customers from surrounding areas too. The location might not scream “tourist stop,” but word-of-mouth travels fast, and now you’ve got people driving from nearby Lacey and Tumwater just to get their hands on that classic Kozy burger.
Menus are posted on-site, and staff are always ready to walk you through specials. While there's no official app, regulars say calling ahead works like a charm if you're in a hurry.
This place is a hidden gem, for sure. The service and attentiveness were so appreciated. The food was delicious. This is not a sit-down restaurant, but for a busy person like me, it was just what I needed. The food came out piping hot and in a jiffy. I got the garlic jalapeño dipping sauce instead of plain old tartar, which the kind gentleman behind the counter recommended, and now I 10/10 it too. I am on crutches right now, and since I had a short wait for the food, they kindly suggested that I wait in the car comfortably and brought my food and drink that I ordered right out to me. What awesome, top-tier service!
